Founder & Senior Pastor
Pastor Mary S. Smith, anointed servant of God, utilizes her platform as a leader, international ambassador, speaker, recording artist, and contributing author to reach the multitudes. Licensed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in February 2002 at the Amazing Grace Baptist Church of Landover, Maryland, Pastor Smith completed Catechism and became an ordained Minister of the gospel on September 11, 2004. On February 6, 2005, Pastor Smith opened the doors of the Key to Heaven "The Church" Christian Ministries, later renamed “Key to Heaven Kingdom Ministries” (KTHKM) in 2008. KTHKM's Overseer is Bishop Dr. Bonnie Hunter, Friendship Church Outreach Ministries, District Heights, Maryland. KTHKM is an active member of International Bible Way Church of Jesus Christ, Inc., under the leadership of Chief Apostle, Willie Rookard. Our Diocesan is Apostle Cornelius Showell, Eastern Atlantic Diocese.
With Pastor Smith’s guidance, many Saints have been elevated to KTHTM leadership during her tenure to include five ordained Elders; one Minister, seven ordained Deacons; and eleven Missionaries. The vision that God has placed in Pastor Smith exudes passion for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, building the youth, and serving the community.
Pastor Smith has expanded the impact of the gospel internationally. She was appointed President of the International Women’s Fellowship of International Bible Way Church of Jesus Christ, Inc. where she served from 2014 to 2022. She is also a dynamic and anointed vocalist who has ministered as far as Benin, West Africa & Europe.
Adding to her many endeavors, Pastor Smith is a contributing author of The Breaking to Brilliance: Pastors’ Edition – 7 Powerful Stories of Triumph & Healing which was released in 2019.
On November 7, 2021, Pastor Mary Smith was consecrated to the position of District Elder under the Eastern Atlantic Diocese of the International Bible Way Church of Jesus Christ, Inc. On October 5, 2022, Pastor Smith was appointed by Chief Apostle Willie Rookard as Sergeant of Arms over the IBW District Elders.
Pastor Smith comes from a large Christian family. She is second of seven children of the late Reverend Albert Smith, Sr., and Missionary Suzanne Smith. All of Pastor Smith’s siblings serve alongside her in the ministry. She is the proud mother of three daughters - Brittany (Andrew Thomas), Bianca, Breanne - and a son, Marc-Anthony.
As God leads, Pastor Smith plans to win as many souls as possible to Christ by word, thought and deed and has adopted the Scripture, Psalms 27:13-14: I had fainted unless I believed to see the Goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He shall strengthen thine heart. Wait I say on the Lord.
